Annapurna is a series of peaks in the Himalaya, a 55-km-long massif whose highest point, Annapurna I, stands at 8,091 m (26,538 ft), making it the 10th-highest summit in the world and one of the 14 "eight-thousanders".

Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal as well as its largest cityl. It stands at an elevation of approximately 1,300m (4,265 ft). It is an urban and suburban area of about 1.5 million inhabitants in the tri-city area in the central Nepal, along the Bagmati River.


Bhaktapur is an ancient Newari town in the east corner of the Kathmandu Valley. It is has approx. 78,000 inhabitants and is a popular day-trip destination for tourists visiting Kathmandu.

The Changu Narayan Temple is one of seven structures cited by UNESCO as demonstrating the historic and artistic achievements that make the Kathmandu Valley a World Heritage Site.
